It always helps to schedule a lunch the day you return from work after a long weekend. Everyone at the office has just been slammed lately, so it was nice that my coworker, Jana, and I could take a lunch break and catch up. We headed to the downtown Amura on Church Street. It’s no secret that I adore Amura for a nice sushi dinner. Their lunch wasn’t half bad either.
The downtown Amura is truly perfect for a working lunch. It’s a lot less expensive than their dinner menu and they are very quick. You can get in and out and not worry about having to wait too long for your food or your check to get back to the office.
Their lunch menu is a lot smaller than their dinner menu, which most likely accomplishes the goal of getting everyone in and out and back to work. They have a whole series of Bento boxes, of which I ordered the stir fry veggies and tempura. Jana ordered the chicken teriyaki Bento box. The meal started with hot miso soup and then the boxes came out.

I will admit that I have gotten Bento boxes that came with more components, such as more side dishes and desserts. The crispy wonton noodles seemed like filler. However, my stir fry vegetables were very good. They were in a light sauce that was perfect for not giving me the late afternoon food coma. It came with an assortment of tempura vegetables, which was a nice treat without making me feel too guilty.
All of that food cost less than $10, which is well worth it. The service was great, the food was good, and you can’t beat the price.
