The Greek Corner

Last weekend, we took advantage of the great weather and grabbed lunch outside with Kevin’s boss, husband and adorable daughter. We settled on The Greek Corner, a small authentic Greek in Ivanhoe Village. They have a nice outdoor patio for us to soak up the weather.

I had a craving for stuffed grape leaves, and I was pretty excited by the large portion that came out.

I loved the savory lemony rice with the texture of the grape leaves. I could munch on these all day.

The Greek Corner’s menu is kind of limited, but they did have a lot of tasty looking options. (Although they didn’t have falafel, which I had a craving for.) I usually opt for the gyro when eating Greek but decided I was craving a slightly lighter protein so I ordered the chicken souvlaki.

Holy tzatziki! The pita came overflowing with grilled chicken onions, tomatoes and plenty of tzatziki sauce. Sometimes tzatziki sauce just tastes like sour cream or yogurt, but their sauce was really flavorful and tasted homemade. I ended up dipping my fries in some of my excess sauce. It was addicting. The chicken was also really well seasoned and moist.

Not only is tomorrow Valentine’s Day but it’s also my last evening with Kevin for a few days. I’ll be gone this weekend celebrating one of my best friends Sarah at her bachelorette weekend festivities. She was one of my amazing bridesmaids, and I’m so excited and honored to return the favor.

I can’t wait for a fun girls’ weekend!

What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Kevin and I are pretty low key for V-day every year. I’m sure we’ll enjoy a relaxing evening in.

  1. Hubby is working so it will be me and my little valentine. Dinner and homework LOL. Hubby and I will celebrate on Friday with a steak dinner out and a visit to a winery after.

  2. We are keeping things low-key too. We will make dinner at home and just relax :)

Ok, now i’m craving Greek food!!! Yummm! I’ve never tried stuffed grape leaves before but they sound really delicious. Happy Valentines Day to you guys… we are pretty low key every year too. No point in facing the busy/crowded restaurants when we can just go on a slower night and celebrate just the same ;)

  4. Yum!! We’ve been talking about needing some Mediterranean in our lives lately!! But we went with our regular Chinese spot for Valentine’s!
