Armando’s

One thing I love about the Orlando area is all the old neighborhoods around town. I love the cobblestone roads and historical buildings. Kevin and I were in the Hannibal Square area, one of these older neighborhoods near swanky Park Avenue in Winter Park, and decided to stop for some dinner.

We decided to try Armando’s, an Italian restaurant and pizzeria. It sits on a cute corner, has plenty of outdoor dining and a bar that is half outside and half inside. The atmosphere was great and the aromas were enticing. Instead of waiting for a table, we just sat at the outdoor area of the bar.

We started out with a basket of warm, chewy bread.

Kevin ordered rigatoni bolognese and loved it.

I ordered the evening’s special, zuppa di pesce, a large variety of seafood with pasta in a spicy sauce.

The dish had calamari, fish, mussels, clams and scallops. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The meal was very hearty and filling. I was stuffed.

I love when we stumble upon new neighborhood finds. Their pizzas also looked really good, so I think a return trip is in store.

In less than three months, I’ll be a married woman! I can’t believe how quickly it all is approaching. This morning I had my first dress fitting.

I didn’t think I could love my dress any more until I started seeing it really fit to my measurements. It looked so good all pinned together at the proper lengths and dimensions. I can’t wait to see the final product, and more importantly, for Kevin to see it.

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor dining?

  1. I love dining outdoors especially if the weather is nice. :) I can’t believe you are getting married in 3 months! It’s going to fly by so quick.

  2. I feel I was JUST reading about Armando’s — we’ll have to go. So glad you scope out all of the new places for me!

I love outdoor dining when it’s not too hot (or too cold).

Yay for your dress fitting! You’re wedding is getting so close :)

  3. I feel like there’s an Armando’s Pizzaria in every city I’ve ever lived… but I’ve never seen an Armando’s that did pasta as nicely as yours did!

I’m so excited for your wedding coming up! At least you didn’t go out to that amazing meal right beforehand! I went out to lunch to what turned out to be an amazing gastropub BEFORE my fitting, and that was not the best idea ever! Food was delicious, but I was feeling my belly full of food during the fitting! You should show more teasers of the wedding as we approach! :)
