Parko says Happy Labor Day!

I hope that you were able to enjoy a long weekend or at least a lighter workday. We’ve been tackling all sorts of housework and wedding projects all weekend and enjoying football season.
My day off started out with a trip to the gym. It was nice being there during daylight hours, although it was a little more crowded than I’m used to. After the gym, I tried out a new-to-me flavor of Drink Chia. Ronni, one of the members of the Drink Chia team, attends Kevin’s TRX class and gave him some samples of their newest flavor for me to try.

Their newest flavor is B Meyer Lemon. Bryan “B” Meyer happens to own the gym where Kevin goes for TRX and he is the trainer for many celebrities. Proceeds from B Meyer Lemon Drink Chia go to the D12 foundation, which was founded by Dwight Howard. Regardless of your opinions of Dwight and his handling of leaving Orlando, the D12 foundation is a great cause that helps to promote a healthy living among youth. B Meyer Lemon is a mix of lemon and blueberry flavor.
Plenty of chia seeds were swimming around the bottle. Chia seeds are a great source of Omega 3s and other antioxidants. You can just drink the seeds along with the liquid, and although you can feel the seeds, the texture didn’t bother me at all.

I usually don’t gravitate toward lemon flavored foods or drinks, but the flavor wasn’t overly sweet or tart. It was perfect for after the gym. I really enjoyed it!
At Taste of the Nation this year, I also got to try for the first time Onli Beverages, a carbonated beverage that contains ginseng. A bottle has about 22 grams of sugar, making it a better alternative to soda. Onli Beverages is only available in a few markets so far, but they’re broadening their reach by the day.

I got to sample the Huckleberry Pomegranate flavor at Taste of the Nation and they sent me home with my own bottle to have later. I really liked the fruity flavor and the bubbles. They also recommend mixing it with alcohol, which I may have to try when I bust open my take-home bottle. They have a lot of flavors, including Hibiscus, which sounds really interesting. I would drink it when I’m looking for something fizzy other than sparkling water.
What is your favorite beverage to sip on?

I really love Kombucha, though the price tag and I are not BFFs, so it’s rare treat!
Ch-ch-ch-chia! (i just had to)
That drink sounds delicious! I don’t think i’ve seen anything like that around here yet! As for my favorite drink… since you didn’t specify if it had to be healthy or not, i’d have to say BUBBLETEA. hands down.
