Park Avenue in Winter Park is known for its dining and shopping. It has many great places for an evening out. One of my favorite date night spots is The Wine Room, a bar featuring roomfuls of different kinds of wines. You get a card that you fill with any denomination and use the card to pay by the ounce to sample the different types of wine. You place the card in the slot and then select the amount of a particular wine you’d like. You can get as little as one ounce so you don’t have to over commit to any wine.
I’ve been to The Wine Room many times and sampled many wines but had yet to sample any of their menu items. They have a menu of cheese and appetizers to accompany your wine tasting experience. After buying a Groupon for The Wine Room, I met up with two of my girlfriends for some after-work wine and snacks.
Our Groupon gave us $40 of wine and a cheese plate.
The cheese plate came with two types of cheese, a softer cheese and a sharper cheese. They were both very good. There was also a sweet dipping sauce, which tasted great with the baguette.
We also shared the pear and brie flatbread.
The flatbread was delicious. The mild brie covered the base of the flatbread. In addition to pears, the flatbread was drizzled with honey making it very sweet and savory.
The Wine Room is great for a girls’ night out or a fancy date. I also spent New Year’s Eve there one year, which was a lot of fun. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but it wasn’t too bad during the week. In addition to wine, they have beer and champagne.
Are you a wine drinker? Do you prefer red or white? I generally lean toward red wines, but a nice chilled white is great on a hot day.
I love The Wine Room! It’s such a great place to try new wines without spending a fortune.
Monday night is the best night for Wine Room. My good friend Lara hosts trivia! It starts at 7pm, 3 rounds of trivia, free to play, with a free bottle of wine for the team with the most points in all three rounds! Also, they waive the corkage fee for full bottles, so you can buy a bottle of wine to share at your table at retail price with no extra cost!
I like red and white wine. I am like you, I enjoy a glass of white wine when it’s really hot out.

I’m def more of a white wine drinker, as they tend to be sweeter than reds (haha, yep, i love all things sweet). This place sounds really awesome! That’s perfect that you can sample some wines without having to commit to a glass. And that flatbread looks delish!
