Of course just a couple blog posts after bragging about my preparedness, I make a serious misstep in preparation for this morning’s workout. I forgot to set my alarm.

Kevin happened to wake up around 5:20 and woke me up. Since I was already 20 minutes behind schedule, I decided to cut out the drive time to the gym and to work out in the living room.
Today was abs and legs day, which makes for a perfect living room workout, so I did three sets of the following:
- 25 bicycle crunches
- 25 normal crunches
- 25 reverse crunches
- 15 back extensions
- 15 leg circles (each leg)
- 15 lunges with weights (each leg)
- 15 squats
I missed the cardio warm up that I usually get at the gym, but it’s better than nothing.
Leg workouts are always pretty tough for me. I need to build up that strength. I was just happy to get a workout in, despite having to adjust my plans. I definitely remember a time when I would have just tossed the workout out completely, especially after a holiday weekend of eating.
Mondays after long weekends are always a little rough, but we made it. I’ve been watching Mad Men from the beginning, and I’m currently starting Season 2. I know everyone loves this show, but I find it to be a little slow. I watch it more for the dialogue than the plot lines. Still, I’m looking forward to watching some Mad Men tonight and trying out a new recipe.
What workouts are the most difficult for you?

Ugh! I hate it when I forget to set the alarm. At least you got up! I would have made it an excuse to sleep in (and then regretted it all day). The hardest day for me to get up is Tuesday (really it’s Monday – which is why it’s an off day – ha). I SO don’t look forward to getting up tomorrow!
Mad Men is a slow show – but I think it’s the slow build up that sucks me in. I actually enjoy how they jump a few years ahead in Season 2, without telling you what happened in the 2-year gap from Season 1 – but don’t worry you will get the details!
Oh no, the alarm fail is the worst! It happens to the best of us though. Kudos for making the best of it and getting a workout in anyways!
Oh man, I commend you for waking up at 5-something in the AM to work out. I try to do that often & always end up snoozing till the very last minute to get ready & go to work.
That’s awesome of you to still get up and do it. Sometimes I skip when I’m already behind because I tend to get frazzled.
My alarm has been a problem for me this week. I accidentally set my alarm clock for 6:45 PM instead of 6:45 AM yesterday, that was a big problem.
I set like 5 alarms incase I dont hear them. I hate getting up late and then being in a rush!
That’s great that you’ve changed your mind set and modify your schedule to get a workout!
I think leg exercies are the toughest for me! Lunges……. oh my… =/
Ab workouts for me or arm workouts with free weights. I do pretty good with the machines
Hi! i used to be pretty bad at making myself lift but I found classes at my gym that incorporate it in that I enjoy and pretty much makes me do it, so it’s a win-win!
