Sunny

I can’t believe how quickly this past weekend came and went. I was definitely dragging back at work today. On Saturday night, I ventured out for bachelorette party festivities to celebrate my good friend Erica who is getting married next month.

For the sake of all related parties, I’m going to spare you all the photos. We had a great time, and I think Erica enjoyed her night out with the girls.

In breakfast news, I’ve reached the end of another jar.

MaraNatha

I have to admit that I really didn’t enjoy MaraNatha, but I hate wasting food. I had heard so many great reviews of the almond butter, but I think it’s the added salt that I didn’t enjoy. I don’t put a lot of salt on foods, so I may be more sensitive to the taste than most.

OOIAJ

I was excited for some overnight oats in a jar, but I was more excited to move on to the next jar.

sunbutter

So far, I’ve been loving the jar of Sunbutter! I love the texture much more than the no-stir MaraNatha. I think I found a winner!

What was the best thing you did this weekend?

  1. We practically got a 3-day weekend with all the snow in Denver!! :) But we kept it pretty casual. I cooked quite a bit, and it was wonderful.

  2. I don’t like almond butter, usually, so I stick with peanut butter. But I did have a jar of MaraNatha peanut butter that just did not go quickly – haha. I have never tried sunbutter – maybe one day if I see individual servings, since I know everyone loves it, but I just don’t wanna risk buying a whole jar!

  3. Sounds like a fun weekend! :) The only almond butter I’ve ever had was Barney Butter. I liked it because it wasn’t too salty. I’m not a fan of salty foods either. I hope the sunbutter tastes better!

  4. YES! It brings a beaming smile to my face to see more Sunbutter lovin’ popping up around the blogosphere! You’re 100% right, Maranatha is okay– but the texture doesn’t even begin to compare to Sunbutter.

  5. I’ve always been a bit eh about almond butter. I’m glad to hear that you like the Sunbutter, though! I’ve got a sample sitting in my pantry and can’t wait to try it!

  6. The superbowl party was the highlight of my weekend for sure! Almond butter is hit or miss, and Maranatha’s does have a kinda funky taste to it…

  7. I LOVE Sunbutter – I don’t love the price of it at my Publix though. $7! It’s $4 (or 5) at Target. Hope you enjoy!

  8. I’ve never tried sunbutter but I see it popping up more and more lately. Have you tried baking with it?

  9. I actually don’t like Mara Natha either. I think Justin’s tastes way better.

  10. Sunbutter! I love it so much, it’s a toss up for me on which one I like best, sunbutter or almond butter.

  11. Hi Jessica,
Yeah! Glad you’re loving the SunButter. (Of course I just must comment since I blog for SunButter…) But as a fellow food and fitness-minded person, I also so enjoy your posts! If you’re so inclined, we have an online recipe box full of recipes, too. http://bit.ly/9Pm79a Let me know what you may try. Take care.

  12. I take your recommendation for the sunbutter–i think everything is too salty, so I’m sure I’d agree with you on the almond butter!

  13. Hmmm, maybe I’ll stear clear of that brand while I explore new nut butters :-) (<–that sentence is so "Healthy living blogger esk. haha)
Best thing I did this weekend? Saw my grandpa, of course :-)

  14. I had that almond butter too and ehh – gross.

Best thing I did this weekend was go to the WP Farmer’s Market. I just love it there!

  15. Last weekend, I went out on Saturday night, which is out of character for me, since I work 10 hour days on Sat & Sun :)
