Caddy Shanks

I had such a busy, but incredibly fun, weekend. On Friday, Kevin and I met up with friends at Caddy Shanks in Baldwin Park for the Orlando Magic game. Unfortunately, the Magic lost, but I still had a blast.

Caddy Shanks is an interesting concept. It’s a bar, but they also have a lot of toys, including a golf simulator, ping pong table, pool table, race car simulators, etc. The service was a little spotty. I don’t think they have designated zones for their wait staff, so sometimes you’ll have a different person asking if you need a refill every two seconds and sometimes you’ll be searching awhile for someone.

They have a pretty large selection of beer. I started off with a Shipyard Applehead.

Pumpkinhead is still my favorite, but I really enjoyed it. The seasonings reminded me of apple pie.

Caddie Shanks doesn’t have their own kitchen, but you can order select items off the neighboring restaurants’ menus. The wait staff at Caddy Shanks will order the food for you and pick it up and deliver it to you. Of course, due to the zone issues mentioned above, we were offered two other pizzas from La Bella Luna before Kevin’s came.

I decided to order grilled chicken tacos from Colibri.

The tacos were very good with a really fresh salsa accompanying them.

It was fun to check out Caddy Shanks and to kick off the weekend with friends.

In workout news, I was inspired by Brittany to try out BodyRock, which is a website that provides you daily quick but high-intensity workouts. They have a 30-day challenge underway, but I’m taking the workouts at my own pace since I’m just getting started. It’s a great workout, and I’m a sweaty mess by the end. So far all the workouts I’ve tried are under 30 minutes, which is a huge bonus. It makes it so much easier to juggle exercise, studying and work.

What are your thoughts on flavored beers?

Have you ever tried BodyRock?

  1. I don’t think I’ve had too many flavored beers. I’m pretty unadventurous when it comes to beer and stick to safe ones like Blue Moon. I do love cider, though!

  2. I’m not a beer drinking at all, but if I were to drink beer I am all about flavored beer!

Brittany has also inspired me to take a look at BodyRock! I am highly considering it!

  3. I’ve passed by Caddy Shanks a few times. It’s always pretty loud and hoppin’ in there! Very interesting that they let you order from surrounding restaurants and pick it up for you. That’s pretty cool!

  4. Never heard of Caddy Shanks, but it sounds right up my alley. So glad you reviewed it!

  5. I love flavored beers! My favorite is a blueberry beer during the Summer. I’ve seen bodyrock all over the blog-o-sphere. I haven’t tried it but it looks intense!

  6. OO bodyrock! Are you trying to stay loosely on the 30 day challenge?

Blackberry wheat from Longtrail (I believe) is really tasty. I’m a pretty big advocate of fruity beers. We’re girls, that’s who they’re made for :)

  7. I looove Shipyard beers! That one sounds good. The pumpkin one is one of my favs

  8. I like some flavored beers. I’ve had blueberry beer and raspberry wheat beers that were good and of course pumpkin. That is a good one too :) I’ve never had Shipyard before though! I’ll have to look for it.

  9. I love flavored beer. My fav is raspberry. For my bf’s graduation party, we ordered a whole keg of raspberry beer from a local brewery and it was a huge hit.
Body Rock intimidates me. The girl who does the videos is in such amazing shape that I always feel that I couldn’t keep up with the workouts she does. How is it so far for you?

  10. I don’t really like beer in general, but I do like hard cider if it’s not Woodchuck :)

  11. Hi, I’m new to your blog and I love it! I’m a fellow Orlando-based blogger, so I really like all the local stuff you cover! I do enjoy flavored beers, and this one looks tasty! I love the Pumpkinhead as well, but my favorite flavored beer right now is a Tangerine beer (you can find it at Total Wine).

I haven’t tried Bodyrock, but it’s right up my alley with its format and workout design!
