Thursday was my coworker’s birthday, and I got to reap the benefits because she chose a new-to-me restaurant for her birthday lunch outing. We headed to Kres Chophouse in downtown Orlando. Kres is one of those power lunch places much like The Boheme or Citrus. The prices are a little higher for lunch, but the ambience reflects that. It’s not packed like a lot of lunch spots during the workweek, and the service is great.
I ordered a new menu item, the ahi tuna burger.
It was delicious. The burger wasn’t really a patty at all like some tuna burgers are where the tuna is ground and packed together. This was basically a filet of ahi tuna just cut into a burger shape. The middle was nice and rare, and the wasabi mayo on top tasted great. It was served with cold couscous salad.
Also ordered at the table were the duck burgers, another new menu item, and the chop salad.
The birthday girl said they changed the salad from the last time she went to Kres a few years ago, but she still enjoyed it. The duck burgers looked really delicious and were served with giant sweet potato fries.
I really enjoyed visiting Kres, and it was a nice change of pace from the usual hectic lunch spots.
Today I am going WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING! I’m more excited to just spend time with my sister who is home from college for Thanksgiving, but hopefully the shopping trip will be a success as well. Send me good shopping vibes.

When I worked downtown last year, my boss would always make me run to Citrus to pick up lunch for her. The prices always looked so hefty that I was never tempted to get anything myself haha
