Lime

The other evening, Kevin and I were in the Sand Lake area in search of a golf bag and decided to grab a quick bite at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, which I had never tried before. It’s the same set-up as Chipotle or Tijuana Flats with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. Their menu is very long with a variety of Mexican offerings from soups to salads to tacos to burritos to quesadillas.

I liked that they had a variety of types of tacos and you could get them on either flour tortillas, soft corn tortillas or hard corn shells.

I ordered one ground beef taco with lettuce, cheese and pico de gallo. I also got a surfer taco, which came with grilled fish, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and cilantro sauce. I chose soft corn tortillas for both. I love the heartiness and texture of corn tortillas.

The ingredients really did taste fresh. Everything was really tasty. The food wasn’t as filling as Tijuana Flats or Moe’s either. The only disappointing part of the meal was the chips. They tasted a little stale to me and were not very well seasoned.

But the help-yourself salsa bar helps.

Kevin ordered three steak tacos with hard shells, which he really liked as well.

I would definitely return to Lime for inexpensive and quick Mexican food that is fresh and light. None of the food was greasy or too filling.

In wedding news, Kevin and I are narrowing down our venue choices to decide which ones we want to visit in person. We decided that we do want to get married in the Orlando area sometime next winter.

Have you attended any Orlando weddings? I would love to hear about the venues you’ve been to!

Do you prefer hard tacos or soft tacos? I usually prefer hard tacos, but when there are corn tortillas, I love the soft tacos!

  1. There is a Lime in Miami and Will and I were planning to visit, but we ran out of time before we had to come back to Orlando :( But that’s awesome that there’s one here too!

We visited Moes the other week and I was sad to see that they only had flour tortillas to choose from (I’m allergic to wheat) This place sounds like a win!

  2. Yay for an Orlando wedding!

I got married in Orlando – but it was almost 9 years ago, so I’m no help. Although I can tell you that the church I got married at (Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox in Maitland) now has a separate reception site and you don’t have to be a member (or Greek) to have your reception there. It wasn’t there when I got married – we had our reception at the Rosen Centre.

  3. Victoria

My in-laws were married at Leu Gardens, but that was a long time ago. I’ll look forward to reading about your wedding planning adventures!

  4. An Orlando wedding sounds perfect. I’m sure no matter where you have the venue it will be beautiful! I prefer soft over hard taco shells…they’re more satisfying to me.

  5. I love soft shell tacos. Mexican food is my favorite. :)

Good luck finding a wedding venue. I’m sure wherever you choose will be beautiful!

  6. I just went to a wedding at the Altamonte Chapel, it was so cute! They had the ceremony there & the reception at Dubsdread, I thought both venues were awesome.

  7. I went to a friends wedding in Orlando in 2006! It was at a local church :)
    I prefer hard tacos! :)

  8. We go to Chipotle here all the time. I love the burritos. I think I would prefer soft tacos. I always seem to make a mess when I have the hard shells.

  9. Yay wedding planning! I’m not familiar with Orlando, but I know we picked out venue based on the kind of “feel” we wanted to create. It gave us the structure to plan the small details. We went with a beautiful outdoor venue in rural NC, and it was the most amazing day. You have so much to look forward to :-)

  10. I love both kinds of tacos!! (hard and soft shelled!!)

and I definitely love restaurants with Salsa bars!! why don’t they do this more often?! soo yummy!!

it’s hard to find places where it isn’t too greasy!! too bad I don’t have that restaurant in my city! :(

    happy Wednesday!!! :D

  11. I have not tried Lime yet… something I want to try in the near future.
