Paco’s

Have you entered my stainless steel straws giveaway yet? You have until Tuesday!

Tonight my good friend, Megan, and I met up for a girl’s dinner at Paco’s in Winter Park. Her husband travels a lot, and Kevin’s been working a ton, so we decided to grab dinner together. I’ve always heard that Paco’s is a great hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, but the service can be really bad.

I’m pretty sure Paco’s is a house on the side of the road turned into a restaurant, but it’s really cute and quaint on the inside.

Our service turned out to be great. Everyone was really nice and welcoming when we walked in, and our waitress was very sweet and efficient.

The menu consists of your typical Mexican fare from tacos to burritos to enchiladas.

I ordered a combination dinner, which came with a taco, two enchiladas, rice and beans. It was a lot of food for about $12. All of their prices were really reasonable.

I really liked that the tacos come in your choice of hard or soft, and the soft tacos come in either flour or corn tortillas. I love corn tortillas. I opted for a corn tortilla filled with beef. For my enchiladas, I got one with beef and one with cheese.

The ground beef in both my taco and enchilada were under-seasoned. It tasted like normal ground beef without anything added. The real star of the plate was the rice. It was light, fluffy and really well seasoned.

On my next order, I think I’ll try a different filler since I wasn’t thrilled with the ground beef, but you really can’t beat the prices. Plus, all the chips and salsa you can eat doesn’t hurt.

What is your favorite Mexican food dish? I know it’s not traditional, but I love taco salads! Maybe I’ll try that next time I’m at Paco’s…

  1. This place looks good for the price you paid! Will & I will have to check it out one day when I have a hankering for Mexican (which happens pretty often :D )

  2. If you can find it on a Mexican menu, I’m almost guaranteed to like it, lol…but my favorite would probably have to be a veggie enchilada or a good old bean burrito!

  3. Mmm mexican food, excellent choice! I really like taco salads too, the fried bowl is my favorite :)

  4. I know some people are obsessed with Pacos, but ugh – the one time I ate there, the food was terrible!! The cheese dip tasted like microwaved velveeta and rotel. Is that really harsh? Maybe I need to give it another try.

I’ve had a hard time finding really good Mexican food in Orlando, but I do like Garibaldi’s, although I’ve had people tell me that they can’t stand it. I guess we are all pretty passionate about our Mexican food!

  5. Mmmm I love mexican food. I’m not sure I have a favorite – maybe guac!

  6. I love all Mexican food!!

  7. I love chicken burrito’s or chicken taco’s :) I’m not really a huge fan of ground beef!

  8. Er

holy moly that dinner looks so good and cheesy. I love nacho’s every once in awhile, and I am totally with you on the taco salads!

  9. Love Mexican food:)
    Veggie fajitas are my favorite!

  10. I think it’s really hard to go wrong with Mexican. I love me some enchiladas, but I never eat them because they are so bad for you.
Have you ever been to Gharabaldis? (I think that’s how you spell it.) It’s on Colonial/436 area? OMgawd, they have the most amaaaaazing Mexican food. Plus, you can order a ton of stuff a la carte so you don’t feel like you are eating for 8.

  11. I love Mexican food, it’s always filling! My fave Mexican place is Agave in Metrowest, have you been? Absolutely delicious!

  12. I’m stalking your website tonight for a great place to eat!! I love all of your reviews!! Thanks a bunch!
