Citrus

This week I celebrated my one-year anniversary at my job, so to celebrate, my boss and I went to Citrus in downtown Orlando for lunch. The atmosphere and service were both great. My boss ordered the steak sandwich, and I ordered the fish sandwich.

I loved my fish sandwich. It featured blackened grouper and was topped with shrimp on Cuban bread. It also came with a citrus cole slaw, which was also very tasty and refreshing.

Before your meal, they bring out warm bread with citrus butter. There’s nothing like warm bread and butter.

After work, I headed out to World of Beer on Sand Lake to meet up with Kevin, some of our friends, and  friends of friends. I’m not a huge beer drinker, so I sipped on cabernet sauvignon all night. The group ordered pizza to be delivered there, but I wasn’t feeling pizza, so I opted to grab a vegetarian bowl from Chipotle, which is next door. I think the wine really classes up the meal.

It was a nice end to the workweek, and I had a great time meeting new friends and catching up with everyone.

Do you prefer beer or wine? I don’t drink very much or very often, so I find it easier and more enjoyable to drink wine. I’m not sure how I got there though because in college I remember preferring beer and never thinking I would enjoy the taste of wine, especially reds.

  1. I used to work right around the corner from Citrus and my boss would go to lunch there all the time! I heard it was a bit overpriced– what do you think?

  2. I’m definitely a wine drinker through and through – I’ll have beer only one a VERY rare occassion. That whole meal looks incredible.

  3. I would have chosen a sandwich like that too, yum! I am more of a wine drinker, don’t like beer too much at all!
