Happy Fourth of July! I’m a sucker for patriotic holidays. Perhaps it’s because both my dad and grandpa were Marines. I always feel such a sense of pride and gratitude for our troops and our nation.
I’m also a sucker for themes. So what better way to meld the two than with a patriotic dessert?
I took Paula Dean’s fruit tart recipe, omitted the glaze (I’m not the biggest fan of fruit tart glazes) and took some creative liberties (get it…liberty?).
